The Jean P. and Peggy Booth Memorial Scholarship was awarded to James E. Corbett of Farmville, a graduate of Richmond High School, Richmond Hill, GA. He is currently enrolled in the 2+2 Engineering program. His future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University and study Structural/ Architectural Engineering. Corbett is married to Jamie Corbett.
The Roland L. Paylor, Jr./Robert (R.L.) Paylor Joyner Scholarship was awarded to Yashica Batts of Kinston, a graduate of Elizabeth High School, Elizabeth, NJ. She is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. Her future plans are to attend Fayetteville State University and obtain a Bachelor's degree. Batts is the daughter of Terry E. Batts and Victor Sessoms.
The Eastern North Carolina Bluegrass Scholarship was awarded to Barbara Crumbacker of Kinston, a graduate of Hillside High School, Upland, CA. She is currently enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program. Crumbacker is the Secretary for the NC Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association and Treasurer for LCC SGA. She is also a Student Leadership Institute graduate, received the Who's Who Among College Students award, and has received the LCC SGA Leadership award. Her future plans are to pursue a graduate degree in Nursing. Crumbacker is married to Richard T. Crumbacker.
The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Julia Koon of Kinston, a graduate of Northside High School, Jacksonville, NC. After obtaining an Associate in Science degree she plans to attend East Carolina University and major in Physical Therapy. Koon is a member of the National Honor Society and the daughter of Robin Ortiz and Jorge Ortiz.
The Ford and Nell Dabney Scholarship was awarded to Kendra Pridgen of Kinston, a graduate of Wallace-Rose Hill High School, Wallace, NC. She is currently enrolled in the Business Administration program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, has been named to the President's List and the Dean's List, and was the Lead Marshall for LCC Graduation 2009. Her future plans are to attend Mount Olive College and pursue a Bachelors degree in Business Adminstration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Pridgen is engaged to David Starkie. |

The Dr. Frank Rocker, Jr. Scholarship was awarded to Amy N. Spear of Trenton, a graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School. She is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program and plans to transfer to Fayetteville State University to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Spear is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, was named the April 2009 Student of the Month, has been named to the Dean's List every semester since enrollment and is the Secretary for the LCC Student Government Association. Spear is the daughter of James R. and Laura K. Spear.
The James C. and Angeline S. Shell Scholarship was awarded to Kayla Jones of Richlands, a graduate of Richlands High School. She is currently enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program. Jones graduated high school in three years, received her EMT-Basic, and an Honor Roll student. Her future plans are to receive Paramedic Certification as well as become a Registered Nurse with hopes of becoming an Emergency Room nurse or Flight nurse. Jones is the daughter of Mark Jones and Tracy Jones.
The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Sherry Vann of La Grange, a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, Goldsboro, NC. She is currently enrolled in the Cosmetology program. She was a member of the Drama Club, the Art Association, and DARE. Vann has completed a Business degree and upon graduation plans to open her own salon. Vann is the daughter of Debbie and Travis Everette and Gary Vann.
The P. E. and Leta Shoulars Scholarship was awarded to Kristi Wiley of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Biology progam and plans to transfer to a four-year university and pursue a Bachelor's degree in Biology and apply for Pharmacy School. Wiley was active in FBLA, FCA, HOSA, and the Drama Club in high school, serving as the Technical Assistant. She received the PTSA award and the Faculty Memorial Scholarship. Wiley is the daughter of Billy and Susan Wiley.
The Ford and Nell Dabney Scholarship was awarded to Shannan Hardy of La Grange, a graduate of D.H. Conley High School. She is currently enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program. Her future plans are to pursue a Master's degree in Nursing. Hardy is married to Amecko S. Tayor and is the daughter of Ada Hardy and Robert Green. |
